Princess Eugenie Bridal Dress

The wedding dress of Princess Eugenie of York worn at her wedding to Jack Brooksbank on 12 October 2018 was planned by the British style fashioners Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos of British-based mark Peter Pilotto.

Pre-wedding speculation

These were a Scottish thorn, to show “the couple’s affection for Balmoral”, an Irish shamrock, “a gesture to the lady’s [maternal] family”, a York Rose, a reference to her family name of York, and ivy, which spoke to the Ivy Cottage, the couple’s home at Kensington Palace.

The dress alongside the headband was shown by the Royal Collection Trust at Windsor Castle from 1 March until 22 April 2019.

Novel Cell Therapy May Improve Heart Failure Symptoms

The COVID-19 pandemic has left many people with serious medical conditions, such as heart failure, feeling fearful about coming into the hospital for treatment. A recent study showed a 40 percent drop in patients seeking medical care for serious heart attacks over the last few months. If left unaddressed, the condition may turn into heart failure, which may limit treatment options even further. Doctors are urging patients not to delay treatment.

The good news is that clinical trials for heart disease are underway, studying cutting-edge treatments for heart failure that may be a good option for these patients. One such treatment being studied uses a patient’s own cells to promote healing of the heart after a heart attack that has progressed to heart failure. The CardiAMP cell therapy is designed for patients suffering from heart failure who feel tired and breathless despite taking regular medications, and who have had to limit their everyday activities as a result. Previously published studies of this type of cell therapy have shown meaningful and sustained improvements in quality of life and heart function for patients with few risks.

“Heart failure patients who continue to have symptoms despite a course of optimal medications often seek a minimally invasive treatment as an alternative to open heart surgery. We look forward to studying the potential of this cell therapy to improve heart function and quality of life,” said Dr. Natasha Altman, cardiologist and principal investigator of the CardiAMP Heart Failure Trial at UC Health University of Colorado Hospital. For the treatment, doctors extract cells from a patient’s own bone marrow, process them at the point of care and deliver them to the damaged area of the heart in a minimally invasive cardiac catheterization procedure. Researchers emphasize that the bone marrow cells do not turn into new heart tissue cells; instead, they are designed to stimulate the body’s natural healing process in the heart.Pete Hagerstrom, a 73-year-old from Colorado Springs who had a previous quadruple bypass to treat his heart failure, was the first patient in his state enrolled in the ongoing FDA-approved clinical study of the therapy. Participants who qualify for the study are randomly placed into a treatment group or a control group. While Mr. Hagerstrom will not know until the end of the study if he received the cell therapy, he feels better after participating in the trial.

China’s 600 km/h high-speed maglev completes trial run

A test high-speed maglev vehicle, with a speed of 600 km/h, successfully conducted a test run on a maglev line at Tongji University in Shanghai on Sunday, marking a new important breakthrough in China’s high-speed maglev research and development.

The development of a 600 km/h high-speed maglev transportation system is a key project in China’s “Advanced Rail Transit” program initiated by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

This is the maiden track run for the prototype since the launch of the project in July 2016.

The project team, with CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co., Ltd. responsible for the technical part, has integrated experts from over 30 enterprises, universities and research institutes. They have broken through core technologies of the high-speed maglev series during the past four years, and enabled a test operation on track after ground debugging and static tests.

On the maglev test track, the prototype carried out the system joint debugging for the first time, and conducted the dynamic operation test under various working conditions.

“During the multi-condition test, the vehicle showed stable suspension guidance and a sound operation state. All key technical indicators met the design requirements and expectations,” said Ding Sansan, head of the research and development team and deputy chief engineer of CRRC Qingdao Sifang.

The trial run saw improvements from static to dynamic operation, obtained a large number of key data, and preliminarily verified the key performance of the high-speed maglev system and core components, which provides important technical support for the development and optimization of the follow-up high-speed maglev project test vehicles.

The high-speed maglev prototype system is expected to be rolled off the production line by the end of 2020.

As an emerging high-speed traffic mode, high-speed maglev features speed, safety, reliability, large passenger capacity, on-time performance, environment protection and low maintenance cost. It can be used for both long-distance transport and short- and medium- distance passenger transport.

The 600 km/h high-speed maglev train can fill the gap between the current high-speed rail and aviation services and help to establish a more reasonable, efficient and flexible transport network to meet the travel needs of different groups.

Eyewitness: Bank robber throws money on street, yells, ‘Merry Christmas!’

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A bank robber in Colorado Springs didn’t want to be a Grinch, according to an eyewitness.

The robbery took place at Academy Bank around lunchtime Monday, KKTV reported. David Wayne Oliver is accused of threatening a teller with a weapon and taking an undisclosed amount of cash, The Gazette reported.

Eyewitness Dion Pascale told KKTV that as Oliver emerged from the bank he “started throwing money out of the bag and then said, ‘Merry Christmas!’” Bystanders collected the money and returned it to the bank, KKTV reported.

Oliver was apprehended by police at a nearby Starbucks, according to the KKTV report.

Beast Mode is back. The Seahawks have re-signed Marshawn Lynch

Running back Marshawn Lynch has re-signed with the Seattle Seahawks, according to a tweet from his agent Doug Hendrickson.Hendrickson tweeted a picture of the Seahawks contract with Lynch Monday night to confirm his client will be returning to the team.

The five-time Pro Bowler could immediately step in and have a large role for the Seahawks in Week 17 when the team faces off against division rival, the San Francisco 49ers Sunday night. A record-breaking 115 million Americans expected to travel this holiday season

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) -If you’re planning to hit the road this holiday season get ready for potential delays.

It’s the happiest time of year for those not dealing with holiday travel!

“Getting in the terminals was crazy,” Kelly Hamlin said.

“LAX is awful. It took me an hour and ten minutes just to get from my house to the terminal,” Ileanna Lesko said.

AAA estimates a record-breaking 115.6 million people will head out of town for the break. It’s the most in nearly 20 years.

“Give yourself plenty of time,” Lesko said.

Lesko and her four-legged friend came across the country from Los Angeles.

Kelly Hamlin came from the west coast also.

“It was crowded. It was a lot of people. Last-minute travelers. There were a lot of people stranded,” Hamlin said.

Officials at the Richmond International Airport report no cancellations for Monday. There were two delays.

If you are traveling across the country storms are making it very difficult to get to your holiday destinations.

Major storms in southern Florida and on the west coast are causing major headaches for some.

“You walk in and there are people sitting everywhere. I just felt so bad for them,” Hamlin said.

Intel 10th Generation Core “Comet Lake” Lineup Detailed

ntel’s short-term reaction to AMD’s 3rd generation Ryzen processor family is the 10th generation Core “Comet Lake.” These processors are based on existing “Skylake” cores, but have core-counts increased at the top-end, and HyperThreading enabled across the entire lineup. The Core i3 series are now 4-core/8-thread; the Core i5 series a 6-core/12-thread, the Core i7 series are 8-core/16-thread, and the new Core i9 series are 10-core/20-thread. Besides core-counts, Intel has given its 14 nanometer node one last step of refinement to come up with the new 14 nm+++ nodelet. This enables Intel to significantly dial up clock speeds across the board. These processors come in the new LGA1159 package, and are not backwards-compatible with LGA1151 motherboards. These chips also appear to feature an on-package PCH, instead of chipset on the motherboard.

Leading the pack is the Core i9-10900KF, a 10-core/20-thread chip clocked at 4.60 GHz with 5.20 GHz Turbo Boost, 20 MB of shared L3 cache, native support for DDR4-3200, and a TDP of 105 W. Intel’s new 10-core die appears to physically lack an iGPU, since none of the other Core i9 10-core models offer integrated graphics. For this reason, all three processor models have the “F” brand extension denoting lack of integrated graphics. The i9-10900KF is closely followed by the i9-10900F clocked at 4.40/5.20 GHz, the lack of an unlocked multiplier, and 95 W TDP rating. The most affordable 10-core part is the i9-10800F, clocked at 4.20 GHz with 5.00 GHz boost, and a TDP of just 65 W. Intel has set ambitious prices for these chips. The i9-10900KF is priced at $499, followed by the i9-10900F at $449, and the i9-10800F at $409.

The 10th generation Core i7 series, as we mentioned, consist of 8-core/16-thread processors. These are physically the same die found on the i9-9900K, but built on the new 14 nm+++ nodelet, and benefit from higher clock speeds. The Core i7-10700K clocked at 4.80 GHz with 5.10 GHz boost, offers 16 MB of shared L3 cache, Intel Gen9.5-based UHD 730 graphics, and native support for DDR4-3200. Intel is pricing the i7-10700K at $389. This is closely followed by the $339 Core i7-10700, which lacks an unlocked multiplier, ticks at 4.60 GHz with 4.90 GHz boost, and comes with a 65 W TDP.

The 10th generation Core i5 family consist of 6-core/12-thread processors, which are physically similar to the Core i7-8700K, but fabbed on 14 nm+++. The Core i5-10600K offers an unlocked multiplier, clock speeds of 4.70 GHz with 4.90 GHz boost, 12 MB of shared L3 cache, 95 W TDP, UHD 730 graphics, and native support for DDR4-3200 memory. This chip is priced at $269. It is closely followed by the i5-10600 clocked at 4.60 GHz with 4.80 GHz boost, the lack of an unlocked multiplier, and a $229 price-tag. Other Core i5 SKUs include the i5-10500 (4.40-4.50 GHz, $199 price), and i5-10400 (4.20-4.40 GHz, $179 price).

At the bottom of the pile is the new Core i3 family of 4-core/8-thread chips, which is surprisingly not physically simlar to the quad-core “Skylake” die, but is rather carved out from the 6-core silicon to give it 9 MB of shared L3 cache. The Core i3-10350K is price-matched with the i5-10400 at $179, offers an unlocked multiplier, and is clocked at 4.60 GHz with 4.80 GHz boost, with a 95 W TDP. It’s trailed by the i3-10320 (4.50-4.70 GHz, 9 MB L3 cache, $159 price); and the i3-10300 (4.30-4.50 GHz, 9 MB L3 cache, and $149 price). At the very bottom is the Core i3-10100. This 4-core/8-thread chip is configured with just 7 MB of L3 cache, 4.20-4.40 GHz clock-speeds, 65 W TDP, and a $129 price.

The 10th generation Panic Lake lacks PCIe gen 4.0, uses 32 Gbps DMI 3.0 chipset bus, and will be accompanied by the new 495-series chipset that sits on the same package as the CPU die, and talks to it over OPI, which is basically on-package DMI (32 Gbps). The CPU socket now puts out all of the platform connectivity on the motherboard. Among the connectivity options are one PCI-Express 3.0 x16 link meant for graphics, a handful USB 3.1 gen 2 and gen 1 ports, a few M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 slots, SATA 6 Gbps ports, HDA bus, and GbE PHY.

There’s no information on when the 10th generation “Comet Lake” launches, but something tells us Intel will frantcally launch this platform to cut into 3rd gen Ryzen sales, because its desktop “Ice Lake” processor won’t launch before 2020.
